Greetings. This is Gary Klugiewicz. Sometimes your students can teach you some important lessons if the teacher would just listen to them. Years ago, we were debriefing a situation in a hospital that could have gone better. Here is what one of the security officers told a nurse when asked why the security officer had not physically intervened earlier when dealing with a particularly obnoxious patient. As we have learned from Dr. Thompson while the words have to be right, the tone and facial expressions, as well as the pauses between the words are everything.
